The potato is an edible tuber native to the mountainous regions of the Andes, in South America. Currently, the potato is an international staple food, occupying no more and no less than the fourth position most distributed food crop in the world.

This tuber is made up of 80% water. Its texture is soft and its color can vary between white, brown, yellowish and pink tones.

The white potato is light in color, almost white, and porous in texture. This food has multiple vitamins such as B6 and C, which help prevent heart attacks and eliminate cold and flu viruses. It also contains iron, which is an adjuvant in the production of white and red blood cells.
