The sweet orange is a fruit that is very well known, and is widely available in countries all over the world. It is commonly cultivated for its fruit in warm temperate, subtropical, and tropical zones.

The sweet orange tree is robust from three to five meters high with a crown of dense foliage, evergreen leaf, rounded fruit with a bark rich in oils and very aromatic essences that contain an acidic and perfumed pulp; its flowers are solitary or grouped, with five scented white petals that bloom in spring.

This citrus also contains beta-carotene (color pigmentation), responsible for its characteristic color, and citric acid, which enhances the action of vitamin C. It also has fiber that is found mainly in the white part between the pulp and the rind, and that is often removed.
